A. Issues and solutions – WASTE – CARDBOARD

This section addresses common issues related to cardboard waste management and offers practical solutions.

1. What should I do with my used cardboard boxes at work?

Cardboard must be sorted so that it can be recycled by your waste collector. To optimise this step, Alterval offers cardboard compacting solutions that save you time, reduce the labour required, limit the risk of accidents associated with cutting cardboard by hand, and reduce the number of collections by reducing the volume of your waste.

2. I have too many cardboard boxes piling up. How can I manage them efficiently?

To avoid clutter, it is recommended that you compact or shred your cardboard boxes directly on site. This reduces their volume by up to 80%, limits internal handling and facilitates storage and removal.
A compaction solution at your workstation or in your logistics area helps you save time and space and reduce your management costs.

3. How can I save space in my warehouse with all these cardboard boxes?

Save space in your warehouses with compaction. Depending on the waste compactor model, you can compact up to 10 times the initial volume.

4. How can I optimise packaging waste management in a warehouse?

There are three types of packaging: primary (in direct contact with the waste), secondary (groups several products together), and tertiary (ensures transport and logistics). Waste compactors allow you to sort better, save time on handling, and reduce internal trips back and forth for your teams.

5. Is there a system for compacting my cardboard boxes on site?

Yes, Alterval offers several cardboard compacting solutions suitable for all volumes of waste. The Valpak rotary compactor, which is very compact with a footprint of only 3.5 m², can be installed directly on your production site. It reduces the volume of your cardboard at source, making it easier to handle, store and collect, without on-site treatment or recycling.

6. How can I reduce the frequency of my waste collections?

Waste compaction significantly reduces the frequency of collections.
By reducing the volume of waste at source, you can optimise skip filling, reduce collection journeys and save on logistics costs, while limiting your environmental impact.

7. What is the best solution for processing large quantities of cardboard?

We offer several solutions tailored to the quantity of your waste. Depending on your volume of cardboard, one of our advisors can guide you towards the most appropriate equipment to optimise your waste collection.

B. Choosing and purchasing a compactor

This section answers questions about selecting, renting or purchasing a compactor.
