Alterval has been awarded B Corp certification
We are very proud to announce that, in May 2026, we will join the global community of B Corp-certified companies. This is recognition of our commitment to a more responsible and sustainable industry.
A demanding process, a shared achievement to become B Corp certified
The B Corp certification (short for Benefit Corporation), launched in 2006 in the United States, certifies commercial enterprises that meet social, environmental and governance requirements, as well as standards of transparency towards the public. Today, B Corp brings together more than 10,500 companies (including more than 630 in France) of all sizes and from all sectors, across more than 100 countries.
To obtain B Corp certification, any company must:
- Achieve a minimum score of 80 points in the audit.
- Amend its articles of association to incorporate two fundamental principles:
- Alterval aims to generate a positive and significant social, societal and environmental impact through its business activities.
- As part of this approach, we are committed to taking into account the social, societal and environmental implications of our decisions for all of the Company’s stakeholders, as well as the impact of our decisions on the environment.
- To disclose one’s score transparently.
It took us several months to secure this highly coveted certification. This certification is recognised by many companies committed to the common good. Furthermore, this process involved all our teams, including: R&D, Production, Sales, After-Sales Service, Procurement, HR, Communications, Administration, Finance and QSE.
The information and evidence to be provided related to the key areas of the company’s operations, namely:
- Environmental impact: energy, resource and waste management.
- Our relationship with our customers and the community: social commitments and contribution to the local area.
- Alterval’s governance: structures and decision-making processes
- Relations with our employees: working conditions, wellbeing and personal development
The responses to 200 questions were analysed and then validated by B Lab, the organisation that awards the B Corp certification.
Yet another label? What does B Corp certification offer Alterval’s customers?
Alterval, which is already committed to a CSR approach, has been awarded the EcoVadis label. Today, we have taken a further step forward with B Corp certification. This certification is an international benchmark for social, societal and environmental impact. More than just a label, this recognition confirms our commitment. Our aim is to become an increasingly responsible, transparent and sustainable company. This certification guarantees our clients, partners and staff that our actions are assessed against rigorous and independent standards. The assessment is based on the five pillars of CSR.
By choosing us, you are placing your trust in a company that harnesses industrial performance to create a positive and sustainable impact.
Certification is just the start; the work continues
This certification marks an important milestone. However, it is first and foremost the starting point for a process of continuous improvement. Indeed, every day, Alterval remains committed to strengthening its positive impact. This applies whether it be managing energy consumption, rigorously applying ethical codes, developing responsible procurement practices, or promoting inclusion within the company. All Alterval teams are fully committed to consolidating these initiatives, building on the progress made and maintaining the standards required by the B Corp certification. We are committed to renewing this certification every three years.
A Word from the President
The first word that springs to mind to express our pride at achieving B Corp certification is ‘Alignment’. It is that precise moment when ambition meets reality. It is the moment when a group comes together around a shared corporate vision, guided by purpose and responsibility.
For ALTERVAL, being B Corp certified means establishing strict standards for our clients, committing to the conservation of our resources, and taking action to ensure a responsible impact.
Today, our ambition and our actions are one and the same. But this certification is not the end of the journey; it marks the beginning of a new chapter. True to the spirit of continuous improvement that is characteristic of B Corp, we will step up our CSR initiatives, explore new sustainable solutions and raise our environmental and social standards even further in the years to come. I am deeply proud to lead this orchestra, which, every day, performs its score masterfully for a sustainable future.
Romuald Uzan, President of Alterval
